AT THE SUPERMARKET




OBJETIVE:

Is organizad in physical terms through the division of space into shelves, in which the products are arranged according to a certain order specific (warehouse products, beverages, fresh foods, sweets, baked goods, cleaning products, Products of pharmacy, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The purpose of this provision is that consumers can walk through the different aisles in a free way to select what is necessary. You can also compare the price, size and quantity of different products offered.

READING:

·         Buying groceries in the old days: Grocer, Butcher, Greengrocer

Prepositional Phrases for Interior Location us indicate where things are located inside a supermarket or store:

-          Distributed:

to your right (a tu derecha)
on the top shelf (en el estante superior)
next to the sugar (Junto al azúcar)
On the left (a la izquierda)
Opposite the bread (frente al pan)
           
·         The modal verb can as we have seen is used to express ability.
Note that in the following sentences, a simple form of the verb is always used after can, regardless of the subject:

You can find frozen foods in Aisle 3

He can find cheese and yogurts in the Dairy section in aisle 7

Customers can pay with a coupon

People can get a wide variety of products in today’s supermarkets

You can shop at supermarkets until very late at night, usually 11:00 p.m.
